Privacy policy

This policy explains, in plain terms, what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with and what your rights are. It complies with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information that is necessary. We do not sell your personal information.

3. Cookies and tracking technologies

Essential cookies (cart, security, payment): always active, because the site cannot work without them.
Analytics and advertising cookies (for example Google Analytics, Meta pixel, TikTok): they may be used to identify you, locate you or create a profile of you. They are turned off by default and turned on only if you click “Accept” in the banner. You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page.

4. Who we share your information with

Only with the providers needed for your order or for running the shop, and only what they need:
- Shopify (shop platform and payments) — Canada, United States and other countries;
- Our manufacturing and shipping partners (print on demand, distribution): CJdropshipping (China), Printful and Printify (Canada, United States and other countries); they receive your name, shipping address, phone number and, for a personalized product, the text or photo you provided;
- Carriers (Canada Post, UPS, etc.);
- Email tool Shopify Email and, if you consent, analytics and advertising tools (for example Google, Meta or TikTok);
- Email forwarding service ImprovMX, for messages sent to contact@pawlaire.ca;
- Authorities, when required by law.

5. Information stored or communicated outside Quebec

Some of these providers store or process your information outside Quebec, and even outside Canada. Before communicating information to them, we assess whether the protection offered is adequate (privacy impact assessment), and we send them only what is strictly necessary. Your information may then be subject to the laws of those countries.

6. Retention and security

We keep order-related information for 6 years after the end of the tax year concerned (tax obligations), then destroy it or make it anonymous. Photos provided for a personalized product are deleted within 90 days after delivery. Your newsletter address is kept until you unsubscribe. Access to information is limited to the owner, who uses accounts protected by two-factor authentication. In the event of a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious injury, we will notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and the persons concerned.

7. Newsletter

We email you for promotional purposes only with your consent (box unchecked by default), or in the cases permitted by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation. Every email contains an unsubscribe link, processed within a maximum of 10 business days.

8. Your rights

At any time, you may:
- access your personal information and obtain a copy of it, including in a structured, commonly used technological format;
- have it corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
- withdraw your consent (newsletter, cookies);
- request the cessation of dissemination or the de-indexing of information about you, in the cases provided for by law;
- be informed of any decision based exclusively on automated processing, if applicable (we do not use any).
